This year Elk Mountain Academy celebrated our 20 years helping young men in their recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.  Four buildings create our compass on 80 acres of forest.  Summit House has our offices in it and the kitchen for the boys meals.  Achievement house is a three story building.  The first story is 1/2 classroom and 1/2 inside gym.  The second floor is classrooms.  On the third floor is the boys bedrooms and living area.  Discovery House is the other building that our boys live in, it has bedrooms and a large living room.  We also have the Honor house where are 18 year olds get ready to move on and start there clean and sober lives. 

The dining format is cafeteria style with excellent food prepared by our full-time cook. Breakfast is served alá carte, while lunches and dinners are family-style, sit-down affairs that draw together the students and staff.

We have a clean, modern kitchen with all of the amenities to provide wholesome, balanced, and tasty meals and delicious snacks and extras. Students often assist with  kitchen duties, and they work with staff to clean up after meals on a weekly rotation.

From a recreation standpoint, the students have a dedicated game/fitness room with free weights, universal machine, ping-pong table, pool table, heavy bag, cardio equipment.

The commons area/living room boasts a 52” high-definition television with theater surround sound. Students may watch recorded sporting events and pre-screened videos or DVDs at selected times, or for weekly recreation.
